Welcome to the Robotics Research Group at the University of Hertfordshire, School of Physics, Engineering and Computer Science. Our group focuses on advances in Robotics and Human-Robot Interaction, from inception of technological innovation by using co-design and user-centred design principles, to its acceptability evaluation, and its effectiveness analysis.
A range of completed and active projects provide the background experience to this group. At the core of the group are two high impact projects: the Kaspar robot, an educational companion tool that has been used for education of children with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorder; and the Robot House which is a designated national infrastructure for fostering research and industrial collaboration around ambient assisted living and independent living. Completed projects cover different domains ranging from rehabilitation technology, to agricultural robots and machine learning essentials to provide perceptive powers to robots.
